Holocaust Next Generation Podcast

Brian’s grandparents, Wolf Gaister of Belzyce, Poland & Sara Gaister of Krylow, Poland were Holocaust Survivors.

Brian is passionate about Judaism and the importance of keeping the memories alive of Holocaust survivors. He is excited to embark on a project capturing the success stories of children of Holocaust survivors that have a shared passion for Jewish continuity and Tikun Olam. Many of these individuals learned critical lessons from their parents that cultivated the work ethic and integrity to build successful companies. For example my father, Michael Gaister, built a successful chain of retail stores through hard work, perseverance, and integrity following his father's footsteps who built a clothing store in the United States while raising a family. Brian was brought up with an understanding of the importance of giving back and Jewish continuity, going to the JCC growing up, participating all four years in the Maccabi games, and attending Krieger Schechter. Following the lessons and values that Brian learned from his parents and grandparents, Brian is an active supporter in numerous Jewish causes including the US Holocaust Museum, National Young Leadership Cabinet through the Jewish Federation, and the JCC of Greater Washington.

Brian is humbled to be able to meet with, interview, and learn from successful entrepreneurs, who are the children of Holocaust survivors, about their up-bringing, their entrepreneurial spirit, and the values that were passed down to them. Brian is honored to be able to create a podcast sharing these entrepreneurial stories with a hope to inspire future generations and never forget.
